The world famous Harlem Wizards are coming to town April 14th, 2024 for an afternoon of FUN and fundraising! 

The Harlem Wizards vs. RISD Hometown Heroes, a FUN, community basketball event is coming to Richardson ISD on April 14th at 3:30 pm at the Richardson High School gym! The Wizards will be playing the RISD Hometown Heroes, a team of district-wide teachers, principals, board of trustees and administrators. 

The experience at a Wizards game is the community and the schools coming together for an afternoon of fun and excitement. It’s also a fundraiser that supports multiple Richardson ISD Council of PTAs programs, including the Prom Dress Boutique, the PTA Clothes Closet, and the Car Seat Program.

This event will feature the Wizards' dazzling demonstration of hoops artistry and lots of audience participation.  Throughout the game there will be audience participation, contests, merchandise giveaways, and more!

After the game, everyone joins in for the Wizards' signature dance celebration that will have the parents on their feet and the kids moving to the beat! There will also be a souvenir table with lots of fun merchandise.

Our hometown team players will be thrilled to play in front of family, friends, and fans. Come out and cheer YOUR hometown heroes on April 14th at 3:30 pm at the Richardson HS gym! You will not want to miss this fantastic experience!

Volunteer

Sign up to help as a volunteer before, during, and after the RISD Council of PTAs Harlem Wizards vs. RISD Hometown Heroes game on Sunday, April 14th!

Volunteer slots are available as early as 1:00pm and until as late as 6:00pm. Please be on time for your shift or even a few minutes early!!

Student Volunteers: Check in at the beginning and end of your shift at the volunteer table to earn your hours.

Adult Volunteers: MUST complete and have an approved RISD background check through Voly at https://risd.voly.org/

Souvenir Table Volunteers: Please be aware that The Harlem Wizards Souvenir Table has some special rules that must be followed:

1. All souvenir table volunteers MUST be the same during the entire event and MUST arrive by 1:00pm for MANDATORY Harlem Wizards Training.

2. All volunteers MUST work the table before the game, during half time, and after the game. 

3. During each quarter, only 2 of these volunteers are needed (rotating between volunteers) and MUST be adults. 

ALL VOLUNTEERS HAVE FREE ADMISSION INTO THE GAME!!! MUST CHECK IN AT THE VOLUNTEER TABLE TO VERIFY YOU ARE VOLUNTEERING BEFORE YOU ARE ALLOWED TO ENTER THE GYM TO WATCH THE GAME!!!
